Business Opportunity...

Over the years, I have been approached about becoming a wedding consultant; I have been very frank and honest about the roles we play and how important it is to have the knowledge and understanding of what it takes from the beginning. The real truth is - this is really hard work! This job is not for neither the thin-skinned nor the easily offended. If you get your feelings hurt easily, look at another profession. You must be able to hold your emotions. If you are not able multi-task at the same time, consider another job. To be a wedding planner you need the patience of a saint, the soul of an artist, the ability to listen and interpret, and to know when to speak and when not too. These keys are a must have.

What is the role of a wedding consultant?

A wedding consultant’s primary function is to help a couple discover, implement and manage all of the necessary tasks required to host a successful wedding event. In simple terms, the role of the wedding consultant is that of a facilitator, mediator, money manager, artisan and constructor of dreams. Since many brides & grooms-to-be have neither the time nor the resources to pull off such a social chore, they are turning to the “professionals” to handle it for them. Knowing all of the little intricacies of the event allows the consultant a fair amount of control, which is an important issue when it comes to dealing with a group of people – no matter what the occasion. This is not to say that the wedding consultant will rule the event with an iron fist, rather it means that he/she will have the capability and the confidence in knowing all of the issues and their meanings as they pertain to that particular wedding.

Get Educated!

This is a new genre; therefore, the many options that are available for continuing education are varied. The purpose of furthering your knowledge in this field is so that you can provide world-class service to your clientele. You cannot do that unless you are on top of all the latest trends, ideas and scenarios that are part of the wedding process. Education isn’t limited to specific courses or classes on wedding consulting – look into subjects such as floral design, cooking classes, wine appreciation, seminars, travel education, catering/banquet basics, cake design…the choices are wide and varied! When you are aware of the many different aspects of a wedding, it is easier for you to do the job more efficiently and with a great deal of style!

For that reason, I have created an eight –week course to help those who share the same passion that I have. If you are truly interested in taking this course and beginning a new career in wedding and event planning contact me for more information. Please only the serious apply.
